E-commerce experts Optiseller, based in Scotland, is expanding overseas due to a boom in online trading on marketplaces such as eBay.
Having set up a permanent presence in Sydney, Australia, the company has already recruited several employees and is looking to fill more vacancies across the country. Optiseller has also bolstered its presence in Germany by strengthening the team dedicated to providing technical support for the German market due to high demand there.
Optiseller offers a range of Software as a Service (SaaS) tools to help online retailers optimise their data and online presence to ensure sales are maximised, the customer experience is enhanced, and retailers are following the policies laid out by the marketplaces.
Richard Falconer, Chief Operating Officer at Optiseller, said: "During the past six months we have seen a huge increase in demand for our services as online sales have boomed during the lock downs and many businesses have been forced to go online. In Q1 we are looking at launching a new automated platform which will make it quicker and less expensive to onboard your shop on eBay. We have also extended our agreement with eBay to provide our Aspect Finder+ tool free to all eBay sellers until the end of June 2021. This tool helps retailers comply with eBay mandates for Item Specifics on their listings and makes it easier for customers to find the right product."
He added: "The boom in online sales has had a significant effect on our company growth. In 2020, Optiseller grew its revenue and headcount by 300%, a significant increase that positions us as a high growth organisation with a multi-million pound operation. This year we are projecting a similar expansion in terms of turnover and team members. Australia and Germany are particular hot spots, so we are putting in the right resources to service customers in these territories. It's an ambitious target, but we are confident that the market conditions support our plans."
