EV Cargo’s Palletforce, the UK’s leading express freight distribution network, continues to lead health and safety in the sector after receiving its 14th consecutive RoSPA Gold Award after once again achieving the highest levels of health and safety in the workplace.
The company’s unrivalled reputation for maintaining the highest possible safety standards in the logistics sector has seen it awarded a fourth RoSPA President’s Award, recognising 14 consecutive gold achievements, thanks to its unrelenting focus on the safety and wellbeing of its employees and visiting member drivers.
The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards is the largest occupational health and safety awards programme in the UK, and recognises organisations’ commitment to continuous improvement in the prevention of accidents and ill health at work, looking at entrants’ overarching health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
Palletforce’s latest achievement is a result of its ongoing implementation of the latest health and safety procedures, allied with investment in welfare facilities and close collaboration with its 120 member transport businesses to drive the highest levels of safety.
Palletforce Health and Safety Manager Beverley Knight said: “This is a fantastic achievement. Accidents at work and work-related ill health not only cause major disruptions to business processes, but the effect on quality of life to the individual cannot be understated.
“Our staff work diligently to carry on the safety standards that have seen us gain a gold award for 14 consecutive years. Palletforce is an ethical and socially responsible company and keeping both our staff and our visitors safe is central for us and is a key part of our governance and sustainability strategy.”
The RoSPA Awards are one of the most prestigious and recognised schemes in the world with almost 2,000 entries every year across nearly 50 countries and a reach of over 7 million employees.
Julia Small, RoSPA’s Achievements Director, said: “Accidents at work and work-related ill health don’t just have huge financial implications or cause major disruption – they significantly impact an individual’s quality of life. That’s why good safety performance deserves to be recognised and rewarded.
“We are thrilled that Palletforce has not only won another RoSPA Gold Award, but a President’s Award – and would like to congratulate them on showing an unwavering commitment to keeping their employees and visitors safe from accidental harm and injury.”
