Dorset Tea is proud to announce the launch of its new fully sustainable packaging. With its strong connection to the Dorset coastline, the brand has taken exceptional measures to ensure all its packaging is as environmentally friendly as possible. To celebrate this new launch, Dorset Tea has teamed up with the Marine Conservation Society to highlight the importance of using sustainable packaging and keeping our coastlines litter-free.
Phoebe Double, Brand Manager at Dorset Tea comments: “At Dorset Tea we love the planet as much as we love a good cup of tea, so we have been working hard to make sure our products respect the environment. It has been challenging, but we are very happy to announce that as of the 13th October 2020 all of our products will be packaged in environmentally friendly packaging. Our special recyclable boxes are not wrapped in plastic and keep the teabags fresh without a foil bag and our biodegradable teabags can be popped into your council food waste bin after usage. To celebrate the changes, we are partnering with Marine Conservation Society to highlight the importance of keeping our marine environment free from litter.”
From removing the gold lettering on the outer packaging so that it is 100% recyclable to the sift proof packaging which does not require inner foil bags, Dorset Tea has considered every aspect of its packaging. Replacing where necessary, for more sustainable alternatives. As part of this step Dorset Tea has introduced bio-degradable teabags using plant-based, heat sealable paper that can be industrially composted. The Dorset Tea box does not require plastic outer packaging.
Acutely aware of the damage that is being caused by single use plastics and littering – particularly seen locally in Dorset during lockdown and the year of the Great British Staycation, Dorset Tea and the Marine Conservation Society has joined forces to raise awareness of the impact of littering along the coastline.

Part of the collaboration between Dorset Tea and the Marine Conservation Society includes joining with local schools to create projects that focus on the local coastal environment and the importance of protecting marine life from litter.
